Clean renewable energy must be the enabler moving forward in the processing off compute power. Looking into how the hydro energy is produced can be seen on this great Statkraft link showing the end to end process. The picture in the heading off this post is from last winter less than two hours from the capital of Norway, Oslo. Yes, there are countries with four seasons, some say we have nine months off bad skiing ;-). This taken into account builds up under the fact that there are options today that can support The White House and Obama in their ambitious to make a difference.
So how do we move around the traffic to use the renewable energy as the right fuel for service – and application deliverables using the Internet? Well, this is the real easy part and what Internet is about… network people unite ;-)… what´s next? Politics and other industries that live off and for the “old” way.. good luck.. time to disturb..
Looking at the obstacles and not into opportunities and forward thinking solutions is not the way… There are surplus off renewable energy several places around, it is just the upside that the Hydro energy business have their “batteries” working great already. Batteries being the hug water dams they easily can control. The challenges in the energy business is to transport the produced energy to the markets that are in need.. using IP I guess it can be easier to enable the usage off a more global market also in the energy side..
There are those that challenge and build for the compute as a service (CaaS) market based on 100% renewable energy.. the ones that “walk the talk” are found on this link . It is time to move and I believe the enablers to be.. Telco + Renewable Energy companies..
